The Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) is the leading organization driving skill development in the infrastructure equipment sector. It focuses on training and certifying machine operators and service mechanics initially. The sector’s growth reflects the country’s economic well-being. In 2010, about 60,000 construction equipment units were sold, and this is projected to rise to 300,000 units in the next ten years. With a shortage of skilled workers and this expected growth, around two million operators and mechanics will be needed. IESC aims to bridge this gap through training and certification.
